Princess Diana’s wedding dress has a 25-foot long train designed with Mother of Pearl sequins. Her taffeta wedding dress was made with silk and antique lace and is said to have cost around £9,000. The princess also had a backup wedding gown designed by her wedding gown designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel. 

  1. Engagement Ring Ordered From a Catalogue

Princess Diana had not opted for a custom-made engagement ring. She opts to go for an 18-carat sapphire ring as her engagement ring from the Garrard Jewellery catalog. The ring had a price tag of worth £28,000. Today, Princess Diana’s engagement ring is estimated to be worth ten times more than the initial price. After Princess Diana’s death, the engagement ring was a part of Prince Harry’s inheritance. Later on, Prince William used his mother's engagement ring to propose to Kate Middleton.

Princess Diana was a simple, free spirit and a kind-hearted gem. As a feminist at heart, she never went by the book. Princess Diana rewrote her vows to Prince Charles. She took out the line about 'obeying him'. Princess Diana rewrote the line as - 'to Love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health'.

In 10 days we will depart LA and head to the UK on a grand adventure for the Princess & the Platypus Foundation (PPF) and the Princess Diana Exhibit.   The fashion icon Princess Diana was a loving royal mother who ripped up the rule book to show the best way of parenting. Everyone knows Princess Diana always tended to go apart from the royal protocol. She wanted to set an example of a modern royal mother in the 21st century.
